Am I a British Citizen?

My grandparents are both British citizens bron in England. My father was born in Tanganyika in 1954 (colony) and live there until he was 2. My grandparents then moved back to England and my father lived there until he was 20 before he emigrated to Canada. My parents married and I was born in 1982 in Canada. Does the fact that my father was born in Tanganyika mean that he is only a citizen by descent and therefore I am not a UK citizen? Am I a UK citizen by any other means? Thanks
